Description
This graduate-level course critically examines dance and movement histories. It traces the evolution of Western theatrical dance forms from early roots in Ancient Greek theater, the Renaissance, through the Romantic and Classical eras, into the contemporary global context. Incorporating current theories of historical inquiry and intersectionality, this course addresses Western theatrical dance against the backdrop of social, political, and economic issues. Meets with DANC 6370.
