Description
This seminar will address the system-level factors and business concepts that influence contemporary and future occupational therapy practice across practice settings. Students will be able to evaluate factors influencing health care access in order to advocate for persons, groups, and populations. Students will demonstrate knowledge of and evaluate the regulatory, business, and financial aspects of leadership and management, including credentialing and licensure, professional regulatory issues, reimbursement models, billing and coding, and finance and cost management. In light of the new content and their summer practicum leadership experiences, students will also continue to reflect on their leadership development (self, team, supervision, advocacy), revising the plan they developed in OC TH 6010 Foundations, Leadership I, and Scholarship of Occupation and Occupational Therapy.
