PRTS 2008 - 002 Avalanche-Level 2
This course will focus on leadership within recreational backcountry travel, analysis of stability, decision-making, snowpack metamorphosis, terrain features, safe travel, human factors, and rescue scenarios. Students must be capable to travel in variable snow conditions in steep terrain with backcountry skis/skins, snowboard/splitboard, or snowshoes. Students must have completed PRTS 2007 to enroll in this course. If you have not taken PRTS 2007, but have taken an Avalanche Level 1 of American Avalanche Association standards and would like to enroll, contact Nate Furman with questions at nate.furman@utah.edu.
