Description
In-person intensive course focusing on business development and entrepreneurship principles in global medicine and healthcare environments. The central element of the intensive course will be participation at the annual Bench to Bedside medical device and technology development competition, which occurs in the final weeks of the Spring semester. Students will also participate in consulting sessions with other Bench to Bedside teams, assessing business development plans, reimbursement, path-to-market, marketing strategy, and financing plans for medical technology startups. Applications of entrepreneurship principles in US healthcare, in global healthcare, and in low-resource healthcare environments will be addressed. Topics include applying business creation principles within global healthcare environments including low-resource settings, as well as financial principles for global health care projects such as public and private funding models.
