Description
The course will focus in connecting the traditional classroom experience with the real life lessons that come through service. Service learning educational approach balances formal instruction and direction with the opportunity to serve in the community in order to provide a pragmatic, progressive learning experience. This course will provide a series of exercises to allow students to reflect on their service experiences in order to grow in character, in problem-solving skills and in an understanding of civic responsibility. Each year D3 students will participate in a minimum of 8 hours of service, the course director will participate in the organization and will approve the events that will provide credit to the students. At the end of the course each students will submit an essay.
