This is accomplished by reading about and discussing current leadership topics and by introducing students to weekly guest speakers; business executives, community leaders and entrepreneurs. Guest speakers demonstrate leadership style and technique through lectures, recommended readings, and presentations. This course has been developed in partnership with the Goff Strategic Leadership Center, whose aim is to change how organizations and people work by developing individuals into value creators. They do this by building a bridge between WHAT students learn in the classroom and HOW they work to drive impact as strategic leaders.

Tech Strategy. This is an ONLINE class. Session 3, March 18, 2024 - April 21, 2024. This course is about technology and the challenge of creating strategies that allow firms to leverage technologies to create innovative products, profit from them, and sustain their competitive and technological advantages over time. We explore the existence and identification of technological opportunity, patterns of technological change, the evolution of technology, the influence of technical standards, appropriability and intellectual property protections, and finally, the challenges of implementing a technology strategy. We conclude the class by exploring the strategic implications of AI—a truly disruptive technology. Regardless of your career choice, you will encounter situations where decisions about involvement with AI technologies need to be made. Technology strategy provides the tools necessary to make such decisions.
