Description
This course is an applied introduction to Natural Language Processing (NLP) in the biomedical domain. The course will provide students with working knowledge of NLP. Students will gain familiarity with the fundamental concepts of general NLP and common NLP tasks, as well as their applications in the biomedical domain. Students will be exposed to biomedical NLP frameworks, ontologies, and resources. This course aims at technical knowledge and skills to implement NLP in clinical projects, and is tailored to students with proficient Python programming skills (or other programming languages and plan to self-learn Python during the course).
