Description
This course covers the fundamental concepts, theories, and procedures of soil dynamics and geotechnical earthquake engineering and their applications in seismic hazard assessment. Topics include engineering seismology, strong ground motion, theory of vibrations, wave propagation in geo-materials, dynamic soil properties, seismic site response analysis, evaluation and mitigation of soil liquefaction and its consequences, seismic slope stability and deformation analysis, soil-structure interaction, and seismic design of foundation systems.
