Description
Introductory probability and statistics topics that are relevant to civil and environmental engineering, including set terminology and theory, fundamental axioms of probability, conditional probability, statistical independence, Bayes' theorem, deMorgan's rule, random variables, probability mass, density and distribution functions, moments, measures of central tendency and dispersion, common discrete and continuous probability functions, data compression, frequency distributions, point estimation, and confidence intervals.
